HeartHealth is a book about spiritual psychology, a psychology of feelings and emotions. Cognitive and most other psychologies deal with the mind, thoughts and images that rage in peoples’ heads whereas HeartHealth takes one on a journey directly into their own mysterious world of pure being, feeling and emotion.
From the space of the heart we see the world, ourselves and significant others differently than our minds tuned to separation do. The deeper we go into the heart the more centered we become but the ticket to admission is steep. Without a love and commitment to truth it is impossible to maintain a connection with our own hearts or the hearts of anyone else for that matter.
This book gives simple clues to knowing when you are in your heart as well as clues to knowing when you are gravitating into the separative space of the head. It also offers exercises one can do on ones own to penetrate directly into the heart and touch on ones most vulnerable of feelings.
Deep within is our pure being that has incarnated into this body. This being is ultra sensitive and is picking up subtle impressions from the environment through the heart centre of pure feeling even before we come out of mothers womb. This being has its centre in the cardiac area of the body and the more closed it is the weaker and more vulnerable a person or child becomes to illness and disease.
There are many things to eventually understand about this mysterious organ we call the heart. Many things beyond the physical manifestations of that pump organ that beats 110,000 times a day that puts out a strong electromagnetic field. HeartHealth is a book primarily about human emotions, feelings and the vulnerability of our beings.
The heart represents our basic capacity to feel.
Books like Emotional Intelligence highlight the intelligence of our feelings. Since the avoidance of emotional suffering (feelings) is the basis of most mental illness, we can say that anything that directly increases a person’s capacity to feel and face difficult feelings and emotions will increase metal health. This is the essence of HeartHealth.
